Appalachian Festival 2011
On September 17 - 18, 2011 bring your guitar and join us as we celebrate our heritage with traditional live music, food and dance. We kick off this years event on Saturday afternoon with some good old fashioned bluegrass music. Each of the bands performing on Saturday will play at two different times including Kendra Ward and Bob Bence with Mountain Dulcimers (11:15 a.m. & 3:45 p.m.), Awesome Possum (12:00 p.m. & 4:15 p.m.), Crooked Road (1:00 p.m. & 5:00 p.m.) Bluegrass Express (2:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m.) and Wills Creek (3:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m.). Soup beans, corn bread, corn on the cob, fresh baked pies and more will be served during the event so come hungry! Join us for a little clogging along with plenty of food and fellowship. With several local vendors and activities for the entire family, there is something for everyone to do. The evening ends with jam sessions around the bonfire.
Hot coffee with some bluegrass gospel music will revive you Sunday morning as ham gravy, biscuits and fried potatoes are served in keeping with the tradition. Sundays groups include Almost Famous (10:00 a.m. & 1:00 p.m.) Deep Water (11:00 a.m. & 2:00 p.m.) and Cabin Fever (12:00 p.m. & 3:00 p.m.). See you at the festival!
